Orlando's Homestead Candles began with an unexpected spark. In May 2024, founder Samuel Orlando stumbled upon candle-making supplies while browsing a craft store for something entirely different. Intrigued, he gave it a try, but those first candles didn’t turn out great. He set the idea aside that same week and spent the following months exploring other crafts.

From late May through November 2024, Samuel continued experimenting creatively while also researching candle making in depth. By November, the concept of bakery-inspired fragrances came to mind, and he began pouring wax melts packaged in small pouches. His first public step came at the 2024 AMS PTA Craft Show at Austintown Middle School in Austintown, Ohio, where ScentSational Wax Bakes made its debut.

After that craft show, Samuel wanted to expand beyond bakery scents and launched Orlando’s Homestead Candles, opening his first online store and embracing a wider world of fragrance possibilities while honoring his family name. During that Christmas season, he worked tirelessly on what would become the first signature candle: Lemon Cookie. Released under the new name, it quickly became a beloved fragrance that remains unchanged today and is offered in both candle and wax melt form.

Today, Orlando’s Homestead Candles represents a commitment to quality and craftsmanship. All candles are hand poured using 100% soy wax and cotton wicks, designed to be healthy and eco-friendly. Each one is crafted to deliver a room-filling scent throw that lasts the entire burn, creating not just a product but an experience. Though still a young and growing business, Samuel’s dedication continues to guide its evolution, from a chance discovery to a brand built on passion and care.
